The GPS set up screen helps you to configure and check interface to your receiver.
The status of the interface are show by the three lights at the top left of the display:
green indicates that there is no problem, red that there is a negative condition. A yellow
light would suggest that there may be a non-terminal problem.
Suggested first guess for baud rates would be either 4800 or 38400. Check the documentation for
your PDA or receiver for port setting.
Once working, the GPS configuration is stored and you should have no need to change the settings.
Auto-Detection
Pressing the AutoDetect button, TrakPal will search each port for valid GPS data. If you know your settings
it is better to enter these from the menu.
Diagnostics
Pressing the Diagnostic button creates a file TrakDiag.txt in the PDA's top level folder. Please include this
file and details of your PDA and GPS receiver when asking for support.
Receiver Options
The receiver menu allows you
to record raw GPS data and play it back at a later time and at various playback speeds.
Files can be edited sent to the GPS receiver
to set it up in the
required manner - useful if you want to set your receiver to enable WAAS mode, for example. Refer to your GPS Manufacture's documentation before using this option as incorrect commands may have
undesirable effects.
